What is OMEGA 3 TG ULTRA?

OMEGA 3 TG ULTRA is a fish oil formula concentrated in long-chain omega-3 fatty acids, EPA (eicosapentaenoic acid) and DHA (docosahexaenoic acid). The oil used is EPAX® 4030 TG-XO Ultra, of Norwegian origin, presented in triglyceride form. A daily dose of two capsules provides 780 mg of total omega-3s, including 400 mg of EPA and 300 mg of DHA.

How does it work?

EPA and DHA belong to the family of long-chain omega-3 polyunsaturated fatty acids. The human body can produce them from alpha-linolenic acid, the plant-based omega-3, but this conversion is limited: it only covers a fraction of the needs, and even more so for DHA than for EPA. Direct dietary intake, mainly provided by fatty fish, therefore remains the primary route.

DHA is a structural component of cell membranes, particularly present in nervous and retinal tissues. This role is the basis for the claims recognized at the European level: DHA contributes to normal brain function and the maintenance of normal vision. EPA and DHA also contribute to normal heart function.

These effects are linked to the level of intake, not to a one-time dose. They require regular daily consumption: 250 mg of EPA and DHA for heart function, 250 mg of DHA for brain function and vision.

Who is OMEGA 3 TG ULTRA for?

For people whose consumption of fatty fish is low or irregular. French recommended nutritional intakes are 250 mg per day for DHA and 500 mg per day for the sum of EPA + DHA, which corresponds to regular consumption of fatty fish—a level that many dietary habits do not reach. Two capsules provide 400 mg of EPA and 300 mg of DHA, providing a complete daily intake regardless of the frequency of fish meals.

Take 2 capsules per day with a glass of water, during a meal.

This dose provides 780 mg of omega-3, including 400 mg of EPA and 300 mg of DHA. A bottle of 90 capsules corresponds to 45 days of use.

Omega-3s are lipids: their absorption is enhanced by the presence of fats in the food bolus. Therefore, taking them with a full meal is preferable to taking them on an empty stomach, with no particular meal of the day being favored.

Do not exceed the recommended daily dose.

A daily dose taken with the same meal is enough to establish the habit. Lunch or dinner are equally suitable: the key is regularity, not the specific time.

The recognized effects of EPA and DHA are linked to sustained intake over time, not to a single dose. The body's omega-3 status evolves over several weeks as these fatty acids are incorporated into cell membranes. Therefore, intermittent supplementation does not have the same meaning as regular intake—continuity is what matters, and the 45-day format is designed for this purpose.

In athletes, omega-3 intake is often one of the most deficient aspects of their diet, especially when meals are built around lean protein sources—poultry, eggs, protein powders—which do not provide EPA or DHA. Daily supplementation fills this gap regardless of the dietary plan structure.

OMEGA 3 TG ULTRAcan be combined with other products in the range without interaction and can be taken at the same time as a vitamin and mineral complex.

Long-chain omega-3 fatty acids EPA and DHA have been the subject of nutritional research for several decades. Their physiological roles are now recognized at a European level and regulated by authorized health claims, with precise intake conditions.

Limited endogenous conversion

The human body synthesizes EPA and DHA from alpha-linolenic acid, the plant-based omega-3. Studies on this metabolic pathway show that it only covers a fraction of the needs, with particularly low efficiency for DHA [1]. Direct dietary intake of EPA and DHA, mainly provided by fatty fish, is therefore the determining factor for omega-3 status.

Reference intakes

The recommended French nutritional intakes for adults are 250 mg per day for DHA and 500 mg per day for the sum of EPA + DHA [2]. A daily dose of two capsules provides 400 mg of EPA and 300 mg of DHA, totaling 700 mg of EPA and DHA.

Functions recognized at European level

Regulation (EU) No 432/2012 recognizes three claims for these two fatty acids [3]:

— EPA and DHA contribute to normal heart function, with the beneficial effect obtained by a daily intake of 250 mg of EPA and DHA. The daily dose provides 700 mg.

— DHA contributes to normal brain function, with the beneficial effect obtained by a daily intake of 250 mg of DHA. The daily dose provides 300 mg.

— DHA contributes to the maintenance of normal vision, under the same intake conditions.

These conditions refer to regular daily intake, not a one-time intake.

Safety of use

The EFSA has assessed the levels of supplementary intake of long-chain omega-3s and concluded that complementary intakes of combined EPA and DHA up to 5 g per day do not raise safety concerns for adults [4]. An opinion published in January 2026 also maintains the safe intake level for supplemented DHA alone at 1 g per day [5]. The daily dose of the product — 700 mg of EPA and DHA, including 300 mg of DHA — is well below these levels.

Concentration, form and oxidation control

EPAX® 4030 TG-XO Ultra oil provides 780 mg of omega-3 per gram, including 400 mg of EPA and 300 mg of DHA, in triglyceride form, with a triglyceride content of at least 90% [6].

Its technical data sheet sets specifications for oxidation indicators — peroxide value ≤ 3 meq O₂/kg, anisidine value ≤ 8, total oxidation ≤ 10 — as well as for contaminants: heavy metals, PCBs, dioxins and furans, brominated flame retardants, and polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons [6]. The raw material is highly deodorized. Values per capsule are established in the technical data sheet for the encapsulated product [7].
